Connected Conversations: Psychotherapy and the Alexander Technique
The ASO Newsletter - 55th edition
Working together to enable greater understanding of the Alexander Technique through disciplined inquiry.
Introduction
This month, we continue our series of conversations with Alexander Technique (AT) teachers who integrate another professional practice alongside their AT teaching. In this post, Marcus James—an AT teacher and psychotherapist—speaks with Lesley Glover about how these two disciplines intersect, inform one another, and shape his approach to practice. Their conversation explores working with emotion in an AT context and considers where the Technique sits within the broader landscape of body-focused therapies. Marcus has recently published a book that touches on many of these themes: Ease and Skill: A User’s Guide to the Self .
