Capturing Well-being Outcomes: The Warwick Holistic Health Questionnaire and Its Relevance to Alexander Practice
The ASO Newsletter - 54th edition
Working together to enable greater understanding of the Alexander Technique through disciplined inquiry.
Introduction
This month Dr Nicola Brough discusses a Patient Reported Outcome Measure (PROM) the Warwick Holistic Health Questionnaire, which she developed and validated during her postgraduate studies at Warwick University's Medical School. As a researcher and craniosacral therapist, this work responded to a lack of instruments that adequately captured some of the often global and unpredictable outcomes patients experience with craniosacral therapy, and with other traditional or complementary approaches to health. The PROM is now available via the Measure Well Hub, a web-based platform, and is being taken up by craniosacral therapists and others to provide evidence in evaluating well-being outcomes.
